Process of Recognition of Human Iris : Fast Segmentation of the Iris

 Abstract—In order to develop a fast algorithm for iris recognition, it’s necessary to properly acquire and segmentate the image with little loss of information. In this work, we present a detailed algorithm of fast segmentation of the texture of the iris. To achieve that, it is used an iterative search outline of the centers and concentric rays, as well as an application of Gaussian noise and medium filters to get reliable results. The achieved results are compared with the published algorithms and evaluated. The algorithm presents superior performance in relation to processing speed as well as an improvement of the recognition precision.
